Peco Streamline Code 70 Flex Track is just right for secondary lines, lightly-used branches, sidings, etc. Use it for modeling trackage in the early-to-mid 20th century when lighter rail was more commonly used. In the modern era track with smaller rail is still common on branches, secondary mainlines, older light-rail transit lines and sidings. Whereas Code 83 rail is roughly the equivalent of North American 132lb-per-foot mainline rail, Code 70 rail approximates 100lb-per-foot rail used on pre 1960s mainlines.
