The PIKO models of the NoHAB can also benefit from the undisputed elegance of the prototype. In order to achieve this overall impression, great importance was attached to details. The ventilation grilles on the sides are designed with fine etched parts as strongly structuring elements of the locomotive body and are an absolute eye-catcher. However, the striking front windows and the side portholes also contribute to the outstanding appearance thanks to their perfectly flush fit. The impression is completed by the precise and highly detailed design of the bogies. A powerful and smooth-running motor with two flywheels serves as the drive. The model is factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder and impresses with its numerous digital functions and powerful sound on the layout.

The model bears the fits mfx® quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital control centres, a new fits mfx® quality mark was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone and fully passed a special mfx® test.These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed bear the fits mfx® quality mark, which certifies unrestricted mfx® functionality. This means that PIKO products with the fits mfx® logo now also fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
