Sonneberg is one attraction richer. As of 2017, a former DR shunting locomotive in an attractive color scheme adorns the traffic circle designated as a PIKO traffic circle at the entrance to the company´s premises. The PIKO model of the class V23 "Kreisel-Lok" is a universally usable locomotive that is suitable for shunting and track service and, in its eye-catching special paint scheme, should not be missing from any collection. The PIKO model features excellent running characteristics at low speeds and can thus be used on the model railroad, for example, in front of special trains or on sidings. In addition, the powerful motor has a precisely balanced flywheel mass. Since the frame, gearbox housing, and motor stem are made of die-cast zinc, the compact model is powerful, sturdy, and has a good grip without sacrificing details. The model has close coupler kinematics and a digitally switchable direction-dependent white/red light change. The model is prepared for retrofitting with a digital or PIKO sound decoder.
