The Rapido Trains HO Scale Fruehauf 40′ Fluted-Side Volume Van Trailer is based on semi trailers introduced in the 1960s for piggyback and trucking lines. As one of the earliest intermodal services, the Pennsylvania Railroad′s ′TrucTrain′ was a pioneer in offering TOFC (Trailer On Flat Car) service, but many other railroads offered their own services. The Trailer Train Company (TTX) was formed in 1955 and quickly became the major player with cars operating on railroads throughout North America. This model comes fully assembled and features a detailed, injection-molded body with or without side door as appropriate, fine decoration with multiple roadnumbers per scheme and realistic wheels and tires.
