The Rapido Trains HO Scale Class H-6 4-6-0 ′Ten Wheeler′ is an accurate model of the light, general-purpose locomotives perfectly suited to freight or passenger work across the entire Canadian National (CNR) system. Originally built for the Canadian Northern Railway, CNR′s H-6 class 4-6-0 could be found in all kinds of light freight and passenger service and lasted until the end of CN steam service in the late 1950s. Over the years, several modifications were made to the H-6 which created some visually distinct locomotives in several subclasses. These include but are not limited to installing new steel cabs to replace the original wooden ones, conversion of part of the fleet from coal to oil fired, and wooden extensions to the tender bunker for those units that continued using coal. This HO Scale H-6 features prototypically accurate roadnumber and subclass-specific details including body type with correct details including wood or steel cab, extended or regular coal bunkers, manual or power reversers, vertical or horizontal-slat pilots, bell locations and headlight sizes. The smooth-running, flywheel-equipped drive features a heavy die cast weight centered over the drivers for great pulling power, working headlight, marker lights and class lights complete accurate piping and underbody, oil or coal tender as appropriate and the model comes equipped with Macdonald-Cartier knuckle couplers compatible with all magnetic knuckle couplers. The Class H-6 4-6-0 comes equipped with an ESU LokSound sound and DCC decoder with a full sound package including synchronized chuff, accurate whistle and bell and full user-controlled lighting including a flickering firebox light. The H-6 4-6-0 can handle a minimum 18′ radius curve, but 22′ radius or larger curves are recommended.
