Novelty 2023: With the completely new design of the class 185 / class 482, PIKO fulfils the wish of many model railway enthusiasts for a contemporary model of this modern locomotive series. The striking proportions of the prototype have been perfectly transferred to scale in the model. The detailed engraved bogies, individually attached sandboxes, free-standing handles and filigree pantographs are testimony to modern tooling and manufacturing techniques. The powerful mid-engine with its two finely balanced flywheels ensures excellent driving characteristics and traction performance, which is further supported by two diagonally arranged traction tyres. The model is equipped ex works with maintenance-free LED lighting with direction-dependent light change, as well as a modern Next 18 interface for the easy installation of a digital decoder, which enables even more prototypical operation on the model railway layout.
