This Broadway Limited HO Scale EMD SD45 is based on the 3,600-horsepower diesels that helped top the horsepower race of the 1960s. Built on the same frame as the SD40, SD38 and several other EMD staples, EMD produced 1,260 SD45s between Decembers 1965 and 1971 in both low- and high-nose versions. These powerful freight haulers sported EMDs 645E3 20-cylinder engine which had 3,600HP output. These Broadway Limited EMD SD45 models feature fine decoration, a flywheel-equipped drive and a die cast chassis for great performance. They're equipped with the Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC control system featuring Rolling Thunder and an integral GoPack capacitor pack for smooth operation during small losses of electrical contact.
