Form novelty of the BR 102 with cranked frame additionally with built-in locomotive sound decoder. The decoder has a total of 25 switchable functions. Many typical locomotive sounds such as the traction motors, signal horns, brake squeal, shunting, and other sounds such as station announcements can be called up individually. Das Schlusslicht ist separat schaltbar. Sound also possible in analog operation - only engine noise.

Logic of the light functions:
F0 switches front white light (3 lamps on) and rear red (2 lamps) [pictures above].

F6 switches the shunting gear, activating 3 white lamps on each side [center pictures].

F9 switches the shunting lighting, whereby on both sides the lower left lamp (seen in direction of travel) is activated [pictures below].
